BEHIND THE MUSIC

John began to play guitar at 12 years old after becoming inspired by artists such as John Mayer, Bon Iver, and Ben Howard. These artists influenced his playing ability, as well as his style. After finishing high school and performing in his graduation ceremony, he decided to audition for a BCoMM (Bachelor of Commercial Music) at Massey University; in which he majored in Music Technology. During his time at Massey University, John developed stylistically into his current sound, as well as gained important skills and experience using a vast variety of musical software and hardware.
